SASSA Payment Dates 2026/2027
SASSA pays permanent grants in the first week of each month in a fixed order: Older Persons first, then Disability, then Child Support and the other children's grants. The full April 2026 to March 2027 schedule is below. The SRD R370 grant is not on this schedule — it is paid in batches later in the month with no fixed date.
What is the SASSA payment schedule for 2026/27?

When a date falls on a public holiday or weekend, payment moves to the next working day — the schedule above already reflects that.
Which day is mine?
- Older Persons day
- Older Persons grant and War Veterans grant.
- Disability day
- Disability grant and Care Dependency grant. Care Dependency is paid with Disability, not on the children's day, even though it is for a child.
- Children's grants day
- Child Support, Foster Child, and Grant-in-Aid. Grant-in-Aid is paid here even though it is an add-on to an older person's or disability grant.
What is the fourth date on the schedule?
It is not a general pay day. It is reserved for beneficiaries flagged for a grant review or life certification (eLife) that month. If you were not contacted about a review, it does not apply to you, and your money was released on your grant's normal day.
Why is the SRD grant not on this schedule?
The SRD R370 grant runs on a separate system. It is re-assessed every month and paid in batches during the last part of the month, with each person's date assigned individually. If you receive SRD you will not be paid on the dates above — see how to find your SRD payment date.
What if I was not paid on my date?
- Wait until the end of the day — deposits can reflect at any time on the date.
- Check your card or account balance rather than relying on an SMS.
- Confirm nothing is outstanding — an incomplete review or life certification suspends payment until it is done.
- Call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11 (Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00) with your ID number, or visit your local office.
Gold Cards have stopped
SASSA Gold Cards stopped working after 31 August 2026. If you were paid on one and have not switched to the Postbank Black Card or a bank account of your own, that — not the schedule — is why money is not accessible. Postbank has said the deadline will not be extended.
Common questions
Do I have to collect my grant on the payment date?
No. The money stays in your account or on your card. Collecting later avoids queues.
Is the Care Dependency grant paid on the children's day?
No. It is paid on the Disability day, together with the Disability grant.
When is the SRD R370 grant paid?
Separately, in batches during the last part of the month. Check your own status for the date; it is not on this schedule.
What does the fourth date mean?
It is only for people flagged for a grant review or life certification that month. It is not a pay day for everyone else.
