This site has no accounts and no forms, so it never asks for your name, ID number, phone number or banking details. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show adverts; both set cookies you can refuse or delete. Your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) are set out below.
Nothing you type, because there is nowhere to type it. There are no sign-ups, logins, comment boxes or contact forms. When you visit, the web server records the standard technical details every website receives — your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — in a log used only for security and to keep the site running. They are held by the hosting provider for a short period, are never combined with anything else, and are not used to build a profile of you.

Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they are, so we can see which questions matter most. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Adverts on this site are served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve adverts based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Your email address and message are used only to reply to you or to fix the page you reported. They are not shared with anyone, not added to a mailing list, and are deleted once the matter is closed. Please do not include your ID number, banking details or application reference in a message — we cannot act on them, and you should never need to share them with anyone other than SASSA.
The Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 gives you the right to know what personal information is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Because this site holds almost none, most requests can be answered immediately by emailing us. If you are not satisfied with how a request is handled, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
